The pediatric resident came in. All stool tests came back negative with the exception of one that they have not yet received. He was hoping for a positive result so antibiotics could be administered and the issue resolved. Scopes are ordered for Monday. My prayer is that these will provide the answer. You can pray specifically for that!
Endoscopy will check for things like Celiac and Lactose Intolerance. Colonoscopy will check for things like Colitis and Crohn's. Of course, these scopes are not limited to just what I mentioned. They will also be able to take tissue for examination.
I don't think he exactly "fits" the problems listed above, but this is the next step. I will ask GI Doc in the morning what they will do if scopes prove to be unsuccessful. The labs he had done today came back good with the exception of his Electrolytes. He is still dehydrated. They have bumped up his IV fluids. Waiting on Vitamin D results still.
We are so thankful for the love and care our church has poured out! They are arranging childcare for us, providing meals and hospital snacks, visiting us, and covering us with prayer.
Carter's last meal will be tomorrow's breakfast. They will then give him meds to ensure he is "all cleared out" for his procedure Monday...... as if he is really having a problem in that area! LOL. You should hear the sounds that come out of the bathroom. Hey, you gotta laugh and smile at something. Justin says it sounds like he is going to take off. I keep asking him if he has a whoopie cushion in there!
I will update as much as possible. As soon as I have the time of the procedure Monday, I will post it so you can be praying hard right then!
Words cannot express our gratitude for your prayers. We love hearing from you, so please email, call, text, or leave a comment. Please pray for me too.
Carter kicking my booty in Skip-Bo
I am sorry the game SORRY was ever invented! I lose every time! And for some reason, they thought creating a million different versions was cool. Do you see that Boost sitting on the desk? They want Carter to drink it and it's not going too well.
Wonderful care basket from our care group at church and they brought Pizza Hut!

We are staying up to date and praying for Carter and you all. Great to hear that you've made friends in the church and they are there for you just like your family have been there for you when you were in Jax.
Get well soon Carter - we miss you and the fam!
you know, This probably won't make you feel completely better but hopefully not alone. Our 3rd daughter down had the same problem over here and all the tests came back the same way... and let me just say what a beast it is to "collect" all those stool samples. Take care. God IS good and I can't wait to hear how you put your faith in Him and he rocks the daylights out!
