This morning I took Tyler to a local Applebee's to participate in a fundraiser his football association was doing. The restaurant opened from 7-10am and provided 2 cooks. The players and Mom's were the servers. It was all you could eat pancakes and sausage for $7. Applebee's only took $2 from each plate. I think it was pretty successful. Definitely a neat way to raise money.

J took Ty to football practice from 12-2:30. He took Carter and Ryder too so I could rest. Ryder finally pulled one of his stunts for Dad. Yessssss!!!! He decided it would be fun to take the top off of a gallon water jug and hold it upside down while sitting in the van. Dad didn't like his idea of fun! Fortunately, it was water. The van is currently drying out in the garage with the doors open.

After practice, the association had a cookout for all the families. We were grateful for free lunch and fellowship with new friends.

So what are sports really for anyway? Well, according to I Cor 10:31, whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do, do all to the glory of God. I'm pretty sure that word ALL includes sports. So, sports are yet another opportunity for us to devote ourselves to God and for us to bring glory to Him. We have to be careful, though, not to bring glory to ourselves or to make sports our idol. I will post soon about how we are learning to do this.
